OUR MISSION
The mission of the Beta Tau Alumni Chapter at Morgan State University is to cultivate a lifelong network of excellence by strengthening the bond between pre‑alumni, alumni, the University, and the greater Maryland community. We are committed to fostering mentorship, advancing educational and professional opportunities, and promoting a spirit of service that uplifts our members and the communities we proudly serve.
OUR HISTORY
The Beta Tau Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated is celebrating 71 years of dedicated service to Morgan State University, Baltimore, and communities across Maryland. Chartered in 1954 at Morgan State College, Beta Tau holds the distinction of being the first undergraduate chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. in the state. Founded by five visionary collegiate women, the chapter has cultivated a proud legacy of excellence carried forward by more than 200 remarkable Sorors.
Across generations, Beta Tau has produced an impressive and diverse cadre of professional women—doctors, lawyers, nurses, mental and public health practitioners, engineers, financial experts, public administrators, entrepreneurs, directors, writers, artists, and educators—each contributing to vibrant networks and communities locally and beyond.
